Most recently, Snow released her debut children’s book series, “Lil’ Shawnee”. The series, which was released May 1, 2012 follows a beautiful young fifth - grade girl named Shawnee, who struggles with issues and social experiences common to elementary school girls. Shawnee learns how to overcome the negativity and gains great strength from loving parents—and through visits from her spiritual guide, Nevaeh. As a businesswoman, Snow is the CEO and creative head of two privately held entities, DeShawn Snow Enterprises [DSE], which a corporate office in Atlanta with representation in Los Angeles, and DeShawn & the Boys Productions. DSE’s Atlanta offices oversee the entertainment division of Snow as an artist, including business development, and media management, and the creation and distribution of novelty brand merchandising. The Atlanta office is also the home of several books, which are in pre-production. DeShawn & the Boys Productions is a springboard for the media revolution that Snow has established to fulfill her personal mission through quality entertainment with integrity. Through the production company, Snow [who is the main creative force and executive producer] is planning a reality series, a scripted drama, and an animated television series for children.
Snow launched DeShawn & the Boys Productions in 2010, after leaving BRAVO’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” She shares, “ultimately, being on ‘The Real Housewives’ taught me
that I need to have creative control. This is why I established DeShawn & the Boys Productions, or as I call it DBP.” Snow also realized the power of the entertainment business while being on the show, and how the mass media can be used as a powerful tool in sharing ideas, knowledge, and more. After leaving the show, Snow also emerged in the public eye, as a beacon of hope and light to women of all ages and diversity, in the U.S. and abroad, after going through a public divorce with her NBA player husband.
Snow shares, “I love that through my upcoming projects I have the ability to impact the lives of so many people in a positive way. This is what drives me, and my ultimate goal. My mission is to empower, encourage, and enrich the lives of teen girls, and women all over the world. The entertainment world is the perfect vehicle for me to impact their lives on a potentially global level.” In addition to her business ventures, Snow is very active in the church, and is a minister at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. Snow’s mission is to help others find hope in a world of hopelessness while spreading the unconditional love of Jesus throughout all the nations.
Snow currently splits her time between Los Angeles and Atlanta, where she is developing projects, and supporting various charities including The DeShawn Snow Foundation and Jarren’s Island of Friends [which she founded, and is the chairman of both.] She can also be found on the road on tour, through “DeShawn Live,” a personal appearance tour in which Snow speaks to audiences openly and honestly about her own life experiences and lessons.
